MarketSmart Advertising wins ADDY® for Bright Idea Studios, agency's production house, MORRISVILLE, N.C. (March 8, 2007) "Receiving this awardhaving your peers recognize your workis such an honor," said Scott Rucci, Bright Idea Studios director of broadcast production. "Our team had a great time with this projectfrom developing the concept to filming at 12 locations over five days. We were proud to help Subway achieve its goal of reaching a younger demographic." The Bright Idea Studios team created the "Road Trip" concept after conducting focus groups with young adults aged 18 to 24. In the commercials, the Triad area serves as the backdrop for four friends to reconnect after graduating from college. They decide that there is no better place to start their road trip than at home. MarketSmart's media department conducted in-depth research to ensure that the message reached the target demographic through strategic media buys. The commercial was filmed in the Piedmont Triad region and featured local actors, musicians and landmarksincluding the bright yellow seashell-shaped gas station in Winston-Salem; the area's most memorable and distinct landmark, Pilot Mountain; the giant Duncan Phyfe chair in Thomasville; and the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. MarketSmart received one of three awards in the Television: Local (One DMA) category at the ADDY® Awards ceremony on Friday, March 2. Sixty-three Triangle agencies entered this year's local competition, and 94 awards were presented overall.
