MSA, a full-service marketing communications firm, received three prestigious ADDY® awards from the American Advertising Federation Raleigh-Durham chapter during the awards ceremony held in February, 2011. The agency was recognized for the full "Fit Family" campaign, as well as the individual creative elements including interactive and video.
The program, developed by North Carolina Health & Wellness Trust Fund, targets North Carolina families to give them the education and tools they need to help their families live healthier lives. MSA designed and executed the campaign by creating puppets to engage and educate children and parents about healthy eating and exercise. This effort included a content-rich, interactive website as well as a media effort with TV, print and internet advertising.
MSA won Gold for the "Fit Family" Website (fitfamilync.com), and brought home Silver for the Local TV spots and Silver for the full Mixed Media campaign which also included an illustrated coloring and activity book. See the award-winning work.
After a research phase among parents of young children, Stuart Westland, Account Director at MSA, led the team to develop the memorable, simple-to-understand and easy-to-implement "formula" for parents that cut through busy, time and budget stressed lives.
"Anytime you have the opportunity to create something for a worthwhile cause, and have some fun while you're at it, it's destined for success," says Brian Wagner, Interactive Producer at MSA. "As a parent, and a kid at heart, it was easy for me to become passionately attached to this project. We were so proud to accept the awards."
